Dark gray clouds, the pelting of rain and the rumbling thunder followed by a a flash of lighting . Its like switching on a light for a split second

but only worst . Most of us have seen and experienced multiple thunderstorms

in our lives now as climate change as causing extreme

weather events globally increasing scientific evidence pointing to the trend of more lighting strikes around the world . A typical lighting flash

Measure about 300 million volts enough to kill . it can cause the air around it to heat up to temperatures that have five times more than that

that  on the surface of the sun . Lighting Occur more frequently when it is hotter than when it is colder but , how much more lightning should

We expect as global temperatures continue to rise . According to experts the number of lightning strikes will increase by about 12% for every

degree of a raise in global average temperatures .Lightning play as an important role in atmospheric chemistry and in the initation of wildfires.

The impact of global warming on lightning rate is more than we can contain . In the Indian state of Bihar experts from the Patna university

geology department say that climate change is contributing to this change in the pattern of life lightning causing more deaths.

Global warming is creating more vapors from the sea , the melting of glaciers leading to a rise the sea levels is contributing to the formation of clouds increasing urbanization and loss of tree cover also leading to a rise in temperatures . This develops a system that is favorable for lightning and thunderstorms . Open agricultural fields are also more

Prone to lightning strikes . Lightning  resilient India campaign report in 2021 as many as 18 . 5 million lightning strikes were recorded in India

dizziness even memory loss a study has also established the links between climate change and the rising incidence of lightning in the

arctic region . As temperature continue to rise so will lightning strikes and governments need to do more to reduce the risk of death by
