India Can Learn From Russia || Army Chief Shares Lessons on Logistics from Ukraine War ||


General Pande stressed on civil-military fusion and importance of militaries in wars . He was speaking at army logistics conference in presence of the defense minister .


“ Wars as you would appreciate are not fought between militaries alone the remain of whole of nation endeavour . War test the national resilience and stretch nation resources and capacities . 


The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine which has already passed the half year mark is an example . The images of the war speak for themselves while the war shows little signs of ebbing .


There are already important lessons for those concerned with national security . 

One such lesson that has emerged clearly loud and clear is that the space the pace intensity and reach of military operations rides on the strength agility and capacity of the logistics support.


The optimal employment of fighting power is facilitated by strong road and rail network , Airfields Ports and Motorways power energy and transportation infrastructure amongst other things and these constitute the nation essential and critical infrastructure .


While military infrastructure will continue to meet the immediate and specific demands of the armed forces . It ais a civil military fusion with the support of the Indian industry that shall provide the bulwark for execution and sustenance of  future operations , 

The quick  steps taken by the U.S the UK Russia and most recently by China in implementing efficient joint military civil structures underlying the urgency attached to the Issue” .( Indian Army Chief )


Speaking at army logistics conference defense minister Rajnath Singh highlighted jointness between Tri-services was one of major policy decisions taken in last 3 years .

“ Logistics and supply chain have connected the whole world. Every nation development needs a robust,secure and speedy logistics supply system .

Today India is the fifth largest economy in the world and we are moving towards a five trillion economy .


 Logistics review and reforms are needed today as per the requirements of the 21st Century . The role of logistics in the defense sector is also very important.

Jointness between the three services is one of the major policy changed that have taken in the defense ministry in the past three years .


Logistics is one of the aspects that has reaped benefits due to jointness of the three services.” (Rajnath Singh Defense Minister)
