India, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has said that the country's home ministry will take a decision regarding the departure of the Indian cricket team for the Asia Cup in Pakistan in 2023 as there are security concerns in Pakistan.
It should be noted that this statement of the president of both the Asian Cricket Council and the Indian Cricket Board, Jai Shah, angered the Pakistan Cricket Board, in which he talked about moving the Asia Cup expected in Pakistan next year to a neutral venue.
In response to this, the PCB said that they were not consulted before making this statement and any such decision may affect Pakistan's participation in the World Cup in India in 2023.
It should be noted that the teams of Pakistan and India are going to play the first match of the T20 World Cup in Melbourne on October 23 and the political relations of the two countries have been discussed once again due to this dispute.
'Is the world of cricket apart from India?'
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event called 'India Youth Games' on Thursday, Thakur said, 'Is the world of cricket apart from India? India has played a huge role in the world of cricket. Holding the Cricket World Cup in India will be historic.
In response to a question, he said that this is a BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) matter and he will comment on it. Next year (in India) the World Cup will also be held and teams from all over the world will play. No one can ignore India in sports.'
He said that the Ministry of Interior will take a decision regarding the Asia Cup in Pakistan because there are security concerns in Pakistan. 'It is not only about cricket, India is not in such a position to listen to anyone.'
