Biden Xi to Hold Talks in High-Stakes G20 Meeting

On November 14 US president Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will come face-to-face . This will be there first in-person encounter amid tensions over trade Taiwan and North Korea .
The G20 summit in bali will offer an opportunity for both sides to clarify their bilateral ties . Biden will warn Xi of expanded US presence if China does not rein in North Korea provocations.
According to US National Security advisor Jake Sullivan , Biden will share US perspective with Xi . He called North Korea a “Threat” to the US , Japan and South Korea and to peace and stability in the region .

The president will certainly raise the issue of North Korea with the Chinese president but not from the point of view of being a demander of any kind .
He is going to president Xi his perspective which is that north Korea represents a threat not just to the United States, not just ROK and Japan but to peace and stability across the entire region.
And if North Korea keeps going down this road it will simply mean further enhanced American military and security presence in the region . And so the PRC has an interest is playing a constructive role in restraining North Korea worst tendencies. Whether they choose to do so or not is of course up to them .
On Saturday Biden reached Cambodia for a series of summits hosted by 10-member Asiean . He will met Japanese and South Korean leaders to discuss what they want him to tell Xi .””
Pyongyang increased military activity has raised the stakes for the Biden-Xi meeting . North Korea has launched over 60 ballistic missiles in 2022 alone .
