Chinese Air Force infra push hits top gear in Ladakh
Focus on expansionist China after Yangtse face-off
Despite tension with India Chinais not deterring from its infra push at the border. Chinese Air Force his hit the top gear in building infrastructure across the hotly contested LAC in eastern Ladakh to support its forward development troops.
This even as tensions between India and China loom over the December 9 Yangtse clash . Tawang clash once again put the spotlight on lingering issues between new Delhi and Beijing .
While plaaf focuses on maximizing capabilities by modernizing infrastructure at LAC . Officials familiar with the matter told HT that India is keeping close tabs on Chinese activities at the border factoring in plaaf capabilities in operational planning .

China is increasing the number of runways hangars at air bases creating hardened aircraft shelters surface-to-air missiles sites and a robust radar network. The plaaf activities in Ladakh theater are aimed at boosting combat capabilities .
India is taking matching measures to stay prepared far any contingency at the LAC . India has already closed the infra gap significantly since the 2020 Ladakh standoff . Part of India broader strategy to tackle India not only in Ladakh but across LAC is the scaling up of infrastructure at the border to support sustained operations .
India Air Forces in alert and in a high state of preparedness to deter aggression since the 2020 stanoff . IAF has continuously projected its capability to carry out day-and-night all weather combat missions with front-line fighter jets , special operations aircraft , attack helicopter and multi-missions choppers.

Most Chinese airfields in Xinjiang and tibet are meant for dual-use and plaaf has consciously built jet shelters and other infra for weapons and fuel storage. In response the Indian air force has also built infra in Ladakh and northeast India.
The Indian army has carried out an overarching reorientation of its force already. New weapons and systems have been inducted and capability building is underway .
The latest Tawang clash is a reminder that eastern Ladakh is the focus of current border tensions ,Trouble could spill over into other sectors as well .
The Indian military is keeping its guards up all along LAC to deal with any contingency .
