PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephonic conversation .
Both leaders reviewed bilateral relations and spoke on ongoing war in Ukraine .
PM Modi reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy as Russia steps up attacks in Ukraine .
PM told Putin that dialogue and diplomacy is the “Only Way Forward” in the Ukraine crisis .
This was the fifth phone conservation between the two leaders since February this year . Both leaders had mt in person on the margins of the SCO summit at Samarkand in September .
In the context of Ukraine PM Modi had told Putin that “Today era is not of war”.
Friday phone call was a follow-up on the meeting between the two leaders in Samarkand . Officials statement Both leaders reviewed several aspects of the bilateral relationship Modi and Putin discussed energy cooperations trade , defense and security cooperation.
Modi briefed Putin on India presidency of the G20 and highlighted its key priorities . The two leaders also agreed to remain in regular touch with each other . PM Modi was expected to visit Moscow for now canceled annual India-Russia summit .
