Ukraine has urged Israel to overtly side with Kyiv in its fight Against Russian invasion . This after Israel new foreign minister said that he would “Talk less’ about Russia-Ukraine war . The new Israel FM Eli Cohen also held a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Ukraine pres Volodymr Zelensky top aide mykhailo podolyak urged Israel to take the right side . Zelensky aide to Israel you can talk less but the main thing is to take the right side . Podolyak told Israel 24 that Russia started the war on its own and without provocation .
Podolyak we need to talk a lot about this kind of war because it is a genocidal war. Kyiv ambassador in tel aviv evgeny korniychuk swiftly complained about the perceived change in Israeli policy saying Cohen took a call from Lavrov while his predecessor had refused to do so.
Ukraine however expects new PM Benjamin Netanyahu to act as an effective mediator .
What Ukraine Wants From Israel
I have no doubt that Netanyahu can be an effective mediator since he understands precisely what modern wars are and what is the essence of mediation under these condition . Israel which is constantly in a state of war from various entities has the basic principles of protecting its territory, its right and its freedom.
