The West Indies have announced their preliminary squad for the India Test series, with Brathwaite leading the way.

 The West Indies will begin their preparations for the upcoming home series against India on June 30 in Antigua. The 18-member squad, including captain Kraigg Brathwaite and Test regulars like Gabriel, Roach, de Silva, and Blackwood, will be based in Antigua. The players are currently playing ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers in Zimbabwe. 


The main Test squad will join the camp after the tournament ends on July 9. The West Indies initial squad for India Tests includes Kraigg Brathwaite, Alick Athanaze, Jermaine Blackwood, Nkrumah Bonner, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Rahkeem Cornwall, Joshua Da Silva, Shannon Gabriel, Kavem Hodge, Akeem Jordan, Jair McAllister, Kirk McKenzie, Marquino Mindley, Anderson Phillip, Raymon Reifer, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, and Jomel Warrican.


India's 16-member Test squad, led by Rohit Sharma, includes Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Siraj. The Indian cricketers will travel to the Caribbean islands in July to acclimate to the conditions.
