At the opening ceremony of the Asia Cup trophy in Lahore, the former coach and captain of the national team said that if Pakistan can beat India at the Oval, it can beat anywhere.
Pakistan won the Champions Trophy for the first time by defeating India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Oval Ground in London in 2017. He said that Pakistan's return to cricket after so many years of isolation is a good start and credit goes to the PCB and the government.
He advised the Pakistani team on the India-Pak match in the Asia Cup that if you look at the cricket of our era, we have never won against India in major tournaments, Waqar Younis said that the good thing is that these boys have started winning, which is a very good thing.
"There is no reason why we can't beat India. It doesn't matter where we are playing. If we can beat India at the Oval, we can beat them anywhere, be it India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka. We have the talent, we just have to play like Tigers," he said.
