Asia Cup Super Four Stage, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets

 In the first match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets.


In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Pakistan achieved Bangladesh's target of 194 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 39.3 overs.


After winning the toss and deciding to bat, the Bangladeshi team was all out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs, so Pakistan got a target of 194 runs.



Chasing the target, Pakistan's first wicket fell on the score of 35 when Fakhar Zaman scored 20 runs and was dismissed by Sharif Salam.


The second wicket of Green Shirts fell on the score of 74, Babar Azam scored only 17 runs and was bowled by Tasin Ahmed.


The third player to get out was opener Imam-ul-Haq, he was bowled by scoring 78 runs on the score of 159, his wicket fell to Hasan Mirza.


Imam-ul-Haq faced 84 balls and hit 4 sixes and 5 fours during that time, forming an 85-run partnership for the third wicket with Mohammad Rizwan.


Muhammad Rizwan later put on an unbeaten 40-run partnership with Agha Salman, both players returning not out on 63 and 12 respectively.


The first 4 wickets of the Bangladesh team, who won the toss and decided to bat, fell to only 47 runs, Mehdi Hasan Mirza Safar, Laton Das 14 runs, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi were dismissed.


The next two players, opener Mohammad Naeem 20 and Tawheed Hardoy 2 runs, were forced to leave the field by Haris Rauf.


For the fifth wicket, captain Shakib Al Hasan and senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim put on a partnership of 100 runs off 120 balls, during which both players completed their respective half-centuries. Haris Rauf completed 50 wickets in ODIs


During the match, Shakib Al Hasan scored a half-century off 53 balls with the help of 7 fours, which was his 54th half-century of his ODI career.


He was Bangladesh's fifth player to get out in the crucial match against Pakistan, with Faheem Ashraf guiding Shakib Al Hasan to the pavilion with an individual score of 53 for a total of 147.


On the sixth wicket, Shamim Hussain added 27 runs to the score along with Mushfiqur Rahim, on a total of 174, Iftikhar Ahmed controlled Shamim Hussain's individual score of 16 with the help of Imamul Haq.


Mushfiqur Rahim hit 5 fours during his innings of 64 runs, he was hunted by Haris Rauf with the help of Mohammad Rizwan at the score of 190, so the biggest and most important wicket of the innings was also in the name of the fast bowler.


After that, the last three players left the field with only 3 runs added, Haris Rauf of green shirts took 4, Naseem Shah 3 while Shaheen Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf took 1, 1 wicket.


Earlier, speaking after the toss at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Bangladesh cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan said that if we score more runs, it will put pressure on the opposition team.


"We want to repeat what we did against Afghanistan but we are facing the number one team in the world so we need to play our best game," Shakib Al Hasan said.


On this occasion, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said that we would have batted first, last night we saw that the conditions helped the fast bowlers, we will try to win the match.
