Explosions are audible over Kyiv as Russia attacks Ukraine's capital via air

 Russia launches missiles at Kyiv early Wednesday ( September 6 ) , though Ukrainian air defense shot them all down , the capital military administration said . 

Reuters witnesses in Kyiv heard several blasts which sounded like air defense system being deployed at around  0550 a.m (0250 GMT ) when air raid alerts were issued across Ukraine before being called off about an hour later . There was no immediate damage or casualties reported in Kyiv .
