Foreign Minister meeting with Saudi counterpart in New York

 Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met in New York in which regional and global issues were discussed along with various aspects of bilateral relations.


Both the foreign ministers stressed the importance of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and agreed to promote mutual cooperation in all sectors, especially economy, trade, energy and investment.



The Caretaker Foreign Minister thanked the Saudi leadership for its generous and unwavering support to Pakistan. The Caretaker Minister informed about the formation of SIFC to facilitate investment in Pakistan and emphasized the need to increase cooperation in key sectors including IT, energy, infrastructure and labour.


The Foreign Minister also thanked the Saudi Foreign Minister for hosting more than 2 million Pakistani immigrants. The Saudi Foreign Minister appreciated the services of the Pakistani community in the development of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly relations between the two countries.

The establishment of an independent Palestinian state is inevitable.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani also addressed the Palestine Committee of the OIC in New York.


Jalil Abbas Jilani said in his address that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is indispensable for peace and stability in the Middle East, he also reiterated his determination to continue supporting Palestine.


The Foreign Minister also met the Belarusian counterpart and discussed issues of mutual interest. On the sidelines of the UN meeting, the Foreign Minister also met with the Foreign Ministers of Malta and Cuba in which bilateral relations as well as multilateral issues were discussed.
