100 people died and more than 150 were injured when a fire broke out at a wedding ceremony in Hamdania region of Iraq.
According to foreign media, the fire broke out in the wedding hall and the death toll in this incident is expected to increase.
According to reports, preliminary information has revealed that firecrackers were set off during the wedding, which ignited the fire in the hall. According to the local authorities, a part of the roof of the wedding hall collapsed due to the fire.
Iraqi Ministry of Health spokesman Saif al-Badr has said that all efforts are being made to provide assistance to the victims of the unfortunate accident.
According to foreign media, fireworks are a common tradition at weddings in Iraq, and around 1,000 people are reported to have been present at the ceremony when the fire broke out.
