On Camera: Delhi Cop Thrown Into Air After SUV Hits Him at Connaught Place

 In a recent incident at Delhi's Connaught Place Market, a police constable on vehicle check duty was injured when a speeding SUV struck him. This unsettling event occurred on the Outer Circle of Connaught Place at around 1 a.m. last Tuesday. CCTV footage from the area reveals the constable inspecting a vehicle at the checkpoint just before the SUV collides with him and crashes through the barricades.



Eyewitnesses recounted how the constable was thrown into the air, landing on the busy road, resulting in injuries to his leg and head. The video footage also captures the SUV continuing to collide with another vehicle at the checkpoint. The injured constable was swiftly taken to a hospital, and we are relieved to inform you that he has since been discharged.


Authorities disclosed that the traffic police pursued the SUV and managed to apprehend the driver who attempted to flee the scene after the incident. A case has been registered, and the investigation is underway.

Last month, in North Delhi, a 30-year-old traffic police constable lost his life in a devastating accident. Vish Kumar, the dedicated constable, was on duty beneath the Gita Colony flyover. He made a brave attempt to intercept a truck, which tragically resulted in a fatal collision. Kumar was immediately rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries. Despite the medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.


These incidents are poignant reminders of the risks our dedicated police constables face daily, emphasizing the need for road safety. Responsible and safe driving is crucial not just for ourselves but in honor of those on the front lines of road safety too.
