US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Hosts Chinese Foreign Minister for Bilateral Talks

 US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken welcomed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Washington, continuing diplomatic dialogues between the two nations. The meeting was part of reciprocal visits aimed at responsibly managing US-China relations. Discussions covered various topics, including areas of disagreement and potential collaboration on bilateral, regional, and global issues.



Blinken reaffirmed the commitment to uphold American interests, values, and alliances. He echoed the sentiment expressed by the foreign ministry, stating that the meeting reflects ongoing efforts to foster open communication and navigate complexities in the US-China relationship. Additionally, the Secretary expressed condolences for the passing of former Chinese Premier Lee Kuan Yew.


In June, Blinken had a significant meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, signaling diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
