U.S. Treasury Department sanctions 130 additional people and firms for assisting Moscow...

 The United States has sanctioned more companies and people in a bid to cut off Russia’s access to tools and equipment to support its war in Ukraine.

According to AP News, the sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control on Thursday has targeted some 130 people and third-party firms, from Türkiye, China, and the United Arab Emirates.



These include Turkish national Berk Turken and companies he owns which, allegedly, have ties to Russian intelligence. It also includes a number of firms from the UAE that have, allegedly, shipped aviation equipment and machines used for data reception.


Russia’s state-owned Sputnik News reported that the combined total number of sanctions announced on Thursday including Russian companies came to 37 people and 192 firms.
