The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to remaining ready for "contingencies" on the Korean Peninsula. During a briefing on Wednesday U.S. National Security Coordinator John Kirby made the remarks as he responded to concerns that Washington's focus on wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.might weaken its commitment to Indo-Pacific security.
The official highlighted the Seoul-Washington alliance adding that President Biden is dedicated to fulfilling the security commitment to South Korea including additional military training and also in maintaining a strong military presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
