Blinken holds conversation with Lavrov | First talk since the Ukraine war began|

U.S secretary of state Anthony Blinkel held a much anticipated telephonic conversation with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov. This was the first direct conversation between the two diplomats since 

the start of the Ukraine-Russia war as predicated much of the talk centered around the propose prisoner swap offer . Talking to the reporters on Friday blinking said that he has urged the kremlin to 

accept the proposal for the release of two high profile Americans detained in Russia . Blinking called the conversation a frank and direct one read it 

'' Earlier today I spoke with Russian foreign minister Lavrov  . We had a frank and direct conversation  I pressed the kremlin to accept the substantial proposal that we put forth on the release of Paul Whelan and Brittany Griner . I also emphasize that the world expects Russia to fulfill its commitments under the deal it reached with Ukraine , turkey and united nations on grain shipments from Ukraine .

Blinked did not provide the details of Lavrov's response to what he had previously called a substantial proposal . U.S for weeks has been punishing for the release of two American nation held by russia
