India Moves Towards Its Own Hypersonic Missile
ISRO conducts “Successful’’ Hypersonic vehicle trials
Major step forward for India Aerospace industry
India successfully conducted trials of a vehicle used in hypersonic missiles and aircraft . The trials were conducted by India premier space agency ISRO and defense ministry .
A hypersonic glide vehicle can travel at speed of Mach 5 or five times the speed of sound . ISRO trials achieved all required parameters and demonstrated hypersonic capabilities .

The test were conducted in a trisonic wind tunnel which boosts aerodynamics of missiles . The 160M-long at Vikram Sarabhai space center can simulate flight conditions upto mach 4 .
US report India has 12 hypersonic wind tunnels that can test missiles at high speed . Speed and maneuverability enable hypersonic missiles to hit any target cross the world .
These missile can do maneuvers at high speeds to evade most air defense systems . Currently India, US , China and Russia are working on hypersonic technology .
