Modified HIMARS can’t use long-range missiles to land in Russia
Ukraine reportedly received not-so-effective HIMARS from the US amid Russia war. The wall street journal reported that US has secretly modified these rocket launchers .
WSJ report Kyiv can’t use long-range missiles in the altered version of HIMARS . The WSJ quoting unnamed official claimed that the modifications made to the systems before they were sent to Ukraine involve “Hardware and software”. Report Ukrainian military declined to comment and so did the Pentagon .

Due to operational security considerations we do not comment publicly on the configuration of system provided to allies and partners. The United States remain s committed to providing Ukraine the capabilities it needs to counter Russian aggression .”
WSJ reported that the modifications reflect apprehensions among US officials that Ukraine might stop keeping its promise to not strike Russia with US provided weapons .
