Russia war in Ukrainw has intensified with Vladimir Putin army attacking frontlines in east. Reportedly Russian army is gaining foothold in several areas in the Donetsk region. Amid this Ukraine has gotten desperate for fighter jets and pleaded west for the same .
However two nations have dealt a royal snubto Volodymyr Zelensky after US now Uk has ruled out sending warplanes to Ukraine amid the grinding war. Uk PM Rishi Sunak iy is not practical to send British fighter jets to Ukraine.
Downing street quoting Rishi Sunak said that training Volodymyr zelensky forces are extremely sophisticated typhoons and F-35s would take too long . However the Uk does not oppose western allies sending their own jets after French president on Tuesday refused to rule it out.
Poland another key ally of Ukraine has also not ruled out sending F-16s to Kyiv . However Polsih pm said such move could be possible in coordination with NATO members . Zelenky has also won support for warplanes from Slovika and Baltic states.
On Jan 31 US president Joe Biden said not to sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine . Another NATO member Germany has also said it will not send fighter jets to Ukraine.
Why Kyiv wants F-16s
The F-16s fighting falcon is widely considered one of the world most reliable fighter jets . It is used by other countries such as Belgium and Pakistan . It can be armed with precision guided missiles and bombs and is able to fly at 1,500 mph. The F-16s targeting capabilities would allow Ukraine to attack Russian forces in all wether conditions and at night with great accuracy .
Moscow has repeatedly accused NATO of being an aggression by proxy in the Ukraine conflict warning that further escalation could trigger a nuclear war.
