Turkey Earthquake: Death toll crosses 11,000; one Indian missing, 10 stuck in remote parts

 Today's earthquake news updates from Turkey and Syria: Reuters stated that while the death toll in Turkey alone increased to over 8,754, more than 2,500 people died in Syria during the course of one night. There will probably be more fatalities.





Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, is traveling to earthquake-affected regions as public resentment at the government's "slow and inadequate reaction" grows. Together, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have claimed over 11,200 lives.


Ten Indians, who are stranded in isolated earthquake-affected areas, are said to be safe. The Ministry of External Affairs said that one Indian national is missing. The family of the missing person is in contact with the government.Some of the worst-hit areas are still difficult for rescuers to access.
