Mumbai : Indian media has claimed that Pakistan would prefer to play its matches in Chennai and Kolkata in the ODI World Cup. In the One Day World Cup, the Pakistani team will prefer to play their matches in the cities of Chennai and Kolkata.
According to ICC sources, the Pakistani team has not faced any problem while playing in these two cities in the past, so these two cities will be the preferred venues for the green shirts. A key ICC source told the Press Trust of India on condition of anonymity that though much depends on the BCCI and the Indian government, if given the chance, Pakistan would play most of its World Cup matches in Kolkata and Chennai. The ICC source further said that Pakistan played a T20 World Cup match against India in Kolkata in 2016 and the players were satisfied with the security here. Same is the case with Chennai.
