PM Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa review progress in bilateral cooperation in talks



New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday. PM Modi thanked South Africa for giving leopards to India. Several regional and global issues were discussed between the two leaders. Along with the peace initiative in South Africa, the issue of peace stability in Ukraine was also discussed. This year the chairmanship of BRICS is with South Africa, there was also talk of cooperation on this platform. President Ramaphosi expressed full support to India's chairmanship of the G20.


PM Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation in talks. According to a statement, PM Modi thanked him for sending 12 cheetahs to India earlier this year.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in BRICS in the context of South Africa's chairmanship this year. The statement said, “President Ramaphosa briefed the Prime Minister on the peace initiative of the African leaders. It was mentioned that India supports all initiatives aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in Ukraine. The Prime Minister reiterated India's continued call for dialogue and diplomacy to move forward. In a telephonic conversation, Ramaphosa expressed his full support for India's efforts under India's G20 Presidency and said that he looked forward to his visit to India.
