ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule: According to the draft sent by the BCCI to the ICC, the first World Cup 2023 will be played between England and New Zealand on October 5.
With the World Test Championship final over, the BCCI has sent the draft of the World Cup 2023 schedule to the ICC. After which it will be sent to the participating countries for feedback and the final schedule will be announced within a week.
According to the BCCI draft, the World Cup match between India and Pakistan will be played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. The first match of the tournament will be played between England and New Zealand team on 5 October. While India's first match will be three days later against Australia in Chennai.
Information about the grounds for the semi-finals has not been given in the draft schedule. These matches will be played from 15 to 16 November. The final match will be played in Ahmedabad on 19 November. The first match of the tournament will also be held on this ground.
According to Cricinfo, India will have nine matches in the draft version on different grounds.

The Pakistani team can play its matches on five grounds. In this, apart from Ahmedabad, two qualifier teams will play in Hyderabad on 6 and 12 October. At the same time, it will face Australia in Bangalore on October 20, Afghanistan on October 23 and South Africa on October 27 in Chennai. Against Bangladesh on 31st October in Kolkata and against New Zealand on 5th November in Bengaluru. Apart from this, his match against England will be held in Kolkata on 12 November.
Talking about other big matches, the match between New Zealand and Australia will be played in Dharamshala on 29 October. At the same time, there will be a match between Australia and England in Ahmedabad on 4 November.
New Zealand and South Africa will clash on 1 November in Pune.
Four months are left for the start of the World Cup and the schedule has not been finalized yet. Generally this does not happen. In 2015 and 2019, the schedule was completely finalized almost a year in advance.
On 27th May, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said that the schedule will be announced during the World Test Championship. He did not give any reason for the delay in announcing the schedule. On the first day of the final of the ICC Test Championship, ICC CEO Jeff Allardice said that the schedule would be announced soon but did not give any specific time frame.
