If America had to choose between India and Canada?

Diplomatic tensions between Canada and India have continued since the Sikh leader's murder.

Since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed India for the murder of a Sikh leader, various countries are also urging India to investigate. Now in this regard, the Indian media says that a former Pentagon official, Michael Rubin, has said that if the US had to choose between India and Canada, the US would choose India.

Michael Rubin while talking to Indian News Agency said that India is strategically more important than Canada and Canada fighting with India is like ant fighting an elephant. He further said on this matter that I think Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made a huge mistake, he has made allegations that he cannot take back, he has no evidence to support these allegations.

Michael Rubin said that if we had to choose between two friends, we would choose India on this issue, just because Najar was a terrorist, our relationship with India is very important. On the other hand, the US Secretary of State Antony Blanken has demanded the Indian government involved in the murder of a Canadian citizen to cooperate with Canada in the investigation of the murder of Khalistan Movement leader Hardeep Singh Nagar.

Antony Blanken said in a statement that India should ensure that those involved in the incident are held accountable. Blanken said that he is in close contact with India and Canada on the matter, it is important that the investigation is completed and results are obtained.

It should be noted that recently Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that we have concrete evidence that Indian agents are involved in the killing of a Canadian on Canadian soil. Talking to the media in New York, Justin Trudeau said that the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh is a serious matter, the matter of killing of Sikh leader should be taken seriously and that is what we are doing.

It should be noted that relations between Canada and India have become increasingly strained in recent months. A few days before leaving for Delhi, Justin Trudeau had said that his country was stalling ongoing talks on a trade deal with India. Protests by Sikhs in Canada are also a major cause of tension. It may be recalled that Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nagar was killed in front of a gurdwara in Canada on June 18.
