The Pentagon has sent military advisers to Israel to aid in its war planning, Ap reported . Among the adviser sent to Israel include a Marine Corps General Versed in Urban warfare .
The US is also speeding multiple sophisticated air defense systems to the middle east . The fresh Pentagon move comes day ahead of an anticipated ground assault into Gaza.
One of the officer leading the assistance is Marine Corps LT. Gen James Glynn , AP reported . The general previously helped lead special operations forces against the Islamic state.
The General has served in Fallujah, Iraq, during some of the most heated Urban combat there . Glynn will also advising on how to mitigate civilian casualties in Urban warfare .
Israel is preparing a ground operation in an environment in which HAMAS militants have had years to prepare tunnel networks and set traps in northern Gaza dense urban blocks.
The advisor will not be engaged in the fighting, an unidentified US official said . The US has also advised Israel officials to consider a delay in any ground assault . The delay would give more time to allow the US to secure the release of hostages . So far , the HAMAS militants have released four hostages including two Americans .
