Danger of radiation looms as Russia starts aiming at Ukraine's nuclear power plants

Russia began to take aim at Ukraine's nuclear power plants. The danger of radiation increases. More air defense capabilities are required to more effectively protect from Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine's nuclear power plants. Russia will focus its efforts on damaging Ukraine's critical infrastructure facilities during this fall and winter. This was stated by Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Inat.

"It's not just that we, it's a vital necessity. We have actually already entered the Autumn-Winter period, and the protection of critical infrastructure facilities is an extremely important mission that is entrusted to all Defense Forces, not only the Air Force. Thus, these issues are discussed every day: where and how we can strengthen the protection of these objects," he said.

In addition that Ukraine needs more air defense systems to protect such facilities. "It is clear that Russia can focus attacks exactly there as it was last year. So, every aid, every complex that is provided to Ukraine, even if it is obsolete, what we are now receiving, the same Hawk or systems that we managed to adapt to American missiles, is still a quantitative strengthening in order to protect critical infrastructure," summed up the spokesman.

As reported earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy said a Russian drone attack in the western Kamel nitzki region had probably targeted the area's nuclear power station. The attack shattered windows at the plant and injured 20 people. Zelenskiy said, "Every Russian strike, especially those daring enough to target nuclear power stations and other critical facilities, serves as an argument that pressure on the terrorist state is insufficient."
