G7 Foreign Ministers condemn N. Korea’s arms transfer to Russia

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven have "strongly condemned" North Korea’s repeated ballistic missile launches and arms transfer to Russia as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

Japan’s foreign ministry says this was announced as the G7 foreign ministers discussed Indo-Pacific issues in Tokyo on Wednesday. North Korea has recently provided Russia with more than one-million artillery rounds to use in its war in Ukraine, with Pyongyang appearing to receive technological assistance for its upcoming military spy satellite launch.

The top diplomats also reaffirmed the importance of engaging with China and the need to cooperate with Beijing on "global challenges and areas of common interest."
