The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has created 17 industrial units for economic development in the province, one of them has been established in district Mohmand, where industrial activities have started and employment opportunities have been provided to the people.
Mohmand Economic Zone covering an area of 350 hectares has been established to promote industrial activities and provide better employment opportunities to the people in the merged tribal districts.
Goods manufactured in the zone will be exempted from general sales tax, 24-hour power supply has also been ensured in the zone.
17 units are active in the economic zone while work on other units is in progress, the industrial units have also provided employment opportunities to the people of the merged districts.
Ezdimak chief says efforts are being made to grant it Special Economic Zone status so that industries can retain income tax exemptions.
