Biden's payback to Saudi for oil cuts; U.S mulls reducing military supplies | Report


US and Saudi are locked in a bitter battle over oil and it shows no sign of abating . A report on NBC  news say Biden admin has discussed slow-rolling military aid including shipments of advanced patriot missiles to punish Riyadh.


Washington is still angry with the oil-producing country for its decision to cut oil production which has pumped up prices weeks before US midterm polls .

The same report say that the Saudi have a contract for 300 patriot 104-E 

Guided ballistic missile (GEM-T) -A critical military capability foe Saudis .

The missiles are important for Saudi who face threat from Houthi Rebels in Yeman . Riyadh needs a re-supply of the American missiles for their patriot launch systems Because of OPEC tensions , The 3$ Billion deal between Saudi and US hang in the balance .


NBC report say that the US is also mulling excluding Saudi from upcoming military drills and conference ,including  those aimed at creating joint air  defense systems .

Though their has been no official confirmation the report shows how oil cartels decision to cut oil production strained ties between the allies in recent months While Washington has accused the Saudi-led oil cartel of aligning with Russia .


Riyadh is defended its decision as necessary to spur investment in fossil fuels. All eyes are now on the OPEC + summit scheduled to take place in December
