Ukraine has admitted that it has become a de facto member of the NATO alliance. Ukraine defense minister Oleksii RAezniko in an interview to the BBC said that Ukraine was hopeful that in the near future it will be part of NATO de Jure( By Law).
The US and its NATO allies have been funneling military aid to Ukraine since 2014 but ramped up deliveries of ammunition small arms and heavy weapons including heavy artillery in Feb when Russian troops invaded its eastern neighbor Ukraine.

Ukraine as a country and the armed forces of Ukraine become member of NATO de facto not de jure( By Law) Because we have weaponry and the understanding of how to use it . I am sure that in the near future we’ll become member of NATO de jure. (BBC interview/ Ukraine Defense Minister)
Kremlin in the past has accused US and NATO of being a indirect party in Ukraine war . Recently Vladimir Putin accused west and NATO of turning Ukraine into a colony . Ukraine has received $ 27 Billion military aid from the west following Russia invasion.
Russia says Ukraine NATO ambitions and the eastwards expansions of the alliance since the fall of the soviet union in 1991 was one of the reason behind its move to invade Ukraine.
