The Russia-Ukraine war is about to enter a new calendar year . Peace between the two nations however remains elusive as propaganda and fake news seem t take center stage on social media platforms.

In the latest a Ukrainian lawmaker has shared a fake photo and a purported story of 8-year old marc with her thousands of followers on twitter . The Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko claimed that the boy is a Russian strike survivor .

The saddest part there are no children in Ukraine anymore only little humans with very grown up eyes . Somewhat tired of a life yet unlived. Pictured Marc 8-year old just survived a Russian artillery attack .

The photo is nowhere close to being new and does not appear to have any relation to Ukraine The 2013 Spanish language edition of the book “The Misremembered man “ By Irish novelist Christina Mckenna featured the very same picture on the cover .

As per tineye the photo of this boy had first appeared on flickr in 2012 . While the source of the photograph is unclear, it is clear  that it is least around a decade old and not related to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine .
